The main mission of the National Centre for Physical and Technological Sciences is not only to provide suitable conditions for scientific research, but also to bring together scientists and students from various fields. The NCPTS building is designed as an organic system of laboratories, offices, public spaces and inner courtyards, and is smoothly integrated into the surrounding pine forest. The entrance is from a courtyard, which becomes another space for unexpected encounters. The car park is underground, and the three-storey volume engages respectfully with the natural surroundings and the nearby Science Communication and Information Centre of Vilnius University.
