The vision for the renewal of the Supreme Court of Lithuania building is based on the fundamental idea of the project – to create a balance between a strict institutional status and an open, humane environment, as well as between the urban context of Naujamiestis and modern architectural expression. The proposed path of new construction is a rational response to the complex functional program. Only a new volume allows for the separation of three traffic flows (public, staff, and convoy), ensuring the highest security standards and universal design, which is impossible to achieve by renovating the old building. The architecture of the building is bright and durable, while the dominant wood in the interior and the vertical atrium create a dignified, psychologically comfortable atmosphere. The solutions are economically justified: the new structure allows for the installation of a rational underground parking lot with a shelter, eliminates the "lost" spaces that would occur in the case of renovation, and achieves a rational ratio between workspaces and other auxiliary premises. This guarantees sustainable and cost-effective operation as well as the long-term value of the building. Competition, 2-nd place.
