Seeking to design harmonious and significant building, an inspiration for architectural form developed from historical context and the roots of the city name. Layouted by the Tammerkoski rapids, Tampere's city strong dependency on the stream became an inspiration to shape the museum's volume according to it. Raw and rational shape of a red brick is softened by the stream into the proposed design of a ductile red brick stone.
