Volumetric design of the project was influenced by surrounding context and requirements of the detailed plan. To preserve building's integrity, we designed one piece volume with a ductile deflection which directs spatial flow into newly developing territory of 'Memel city'. Decreasing height of the building keeps respectful relation with oldtown. Designed volume is divided with two cutouts for open terraces on the second floor from Naujoji Uosto street. Volumes of finer proportions integrates well with historically developed layout of the street and its preserved buildings: building at Naujoji Uosto st. nr.5, Court House and prison building on the opposite side of the street. Silhouette of the building - interpretation of Klaipėda's city historical value - Dramblys (Elephant) house. That half-timbered warehouse, built in 1818, included into protected Klaipėda's building list by Germans, was demolished during second World War. Pattern chosen for a facade of newly designed building is an interpretation of half-timbered Dramblys (Elephant) house.
