The active Pavilnys community dreamed of a new home in place of the old library, and this project is another step towards realizing their dream. The building is designed like an architectural "Swiss Army knife" – we have accommodated many different functions in a compact but not "clunky" volume. Instead of one large building, the space is formed by three cozy single-story houses connected by a glass gallery. Each of them has its own purpose: the first house is intended for the needs of the municipality and commerce, oriented towards Garsiąją Street; the second houses a multipurpose hall with rehearsal spaces, and an outdoor amphitheater on the south side will allow the premises to be conveniently used for outdoor summer events; the third building is intended for relaxation: the first floor will house a multipurpose recreation room, while the second floor will feature a cozy library, whose green finish symbolically recalls the old green library building that once stood here. The courtyards between the buildings create a dynamic connection between the historic center of Pavilnys and the new public space. The burnt glazed clay facades and openwork roofs seem to melt into the background of tree trunks, creating a sensitive and modern dialogue with the environment.
